Framed on an experimental design methodology, this project explores the qualities of carded wool as a material for soft sensors. The creation of 3D shapes is the result of using a new molding technique based on centrifugal force and fabric molds. Every shape suggests a different hand gesture, which triggers feedback from a digital environment designed in Processing.
By adding conductive material inside the wool, every shape works as a pressure sensor that measures the interaction with the hand and sends the information to the computer.
